(Only applies to city)
- Background checks only required for some positions
- Background check after conditional offer of employment
- Incorporates EEOC criteria in individualized assessment
The city of Tucson, Arizona put in place the elimination of a question on city job applications related to convictions of the applicant on August 7, 2014. On March 17, 2015, city council and the mayor directed the city to identify specific positions that would require the use of background checks. These would only be allowable after a contingent offer for employment was made and much be in line with EEOC guidelines.
